Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Seaside Operations Inc. ("Seaside Operations," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you visit seasideoperations.com (the "Site") or contact us through it. It is written to satisfy the California Online Privacy Protection Act, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (together, "CCPA"), and comparable laws elsewhere. 1. Who we are

Seaside Operations Inc. is a business and technology consulting practice organized under the laws of the State of California. For the purposes of privacy law, we are the "business" or "controller" responsible for the information described here.

2. Information we collect

We collect very little, and only what is needed to run the Site and respond to you.

Information you give us. When you use the contact form or email us, we receive what you choose to send: typically your name, email address, business name, and the content of your message. Providing this information is voluntary. If you do not provide it, we cannot reply to you.

Information collected automatically. Like nearly every website, the Site is served by a hosting provider that records standard server logs. These may include your IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, the pages you request, the time of the request, and the referring page. We use this information only for security, error diagnosis, and understanding aggregate traffic.

Cookies. The Site does not set cookies of its own and does not use advertising or tracking cookies. The Site uses no analytics service at the time of this policy. If we add one, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent.

Information from third parties. We do not buy data about you or combine what you send us with data from data brokers.

3. How we use information

We use the information described above to:

• respond to your inquiries and correspond with you;
• evaluate and, if you engage us, provide our services;
• operate, secure, and improve the Site;
• comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms; and
• protect the rights, property, or safety of Seaside Operations, our clients, or others.

We do not use your information to make automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.

4. How information is shared

We do not sell personal information, and we do not "share" it for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under the CCPA. We have not done so in the preceding 12 months.

We disclose information only to:

• Service providers that process it on our behalf under contractual restrictions. At the time of this policy these are: our hosting and form-processing provider (Netlify, Inc.), which stores contact form submissions and server logs; our email provider, which handles correspondence; Google LLC, whose Google Fonts service delivers the Site's typefaces and receives your IP address when fonts load; and Cloudflare, Inc., whose cdnjs service delivers a script library used for on-page animation and receives your IP address when the script loads.
• Professional advisers such as lawyers and accountants, where necessary.
• Authorities or other parties when required by law, subpoena, or court order, or when we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to protect rights, safety, or property, or to investigate fraud or security issues.
• A successor in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case this policy will continue to apply to your information.

5. Categories of personal information (California notice at collection)

For California residents, the CCPA requires us to list the categories of personal information we collect, the purposes, and whether we sell or share them. In the preceding 12 months we have collected the following categories:

We retain contact form submissions and correspondence for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to you and to maintain records of any resulting business relationship, and afterwards as required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as defending legal claims. Server logs are retained by our hosting provider for a limited period under its own retention schedule.

6. Your rights

California residents have the right to: request that we disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of third parties to whom it was disclosed; request that we delete personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions; request that we correct inaccurate personal information; opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell or share it); limit the use of sensitive personal information (we do not collect any); and not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

Residents of Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon, and other U.S. states with comprehensive privacy laws have similar rights of access, correction, deletion, and portability, and the right to opt out of targeted advertising, sales, and profiling. We do none of those three.

Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland. Where those laws apply, our legal bases for processing are your consent (when you contact us) and our legitimate interests in running and securing the Site and responding to inquiries. You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Your information may be processed in the United States, which may not provide the same level of data protection as your home jurisdiction; we rely on the safeguards our service providers offer, including standard contractual clauses where applicable.

How to exercise your rights. Email hello@seasideoperations.com with the subject line "Privacy request." We will need enough information to verify that you are the person the request concerns, usually by confirming the email address from which you contacted us. You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf; we may ask the agent for proof of authorization. We will respond within the time required by applicable law, generally 45 days for California requests, and will not charge a fee unless the law allows it.

7. Do Not Track

Because we do not track visitors across websites and set no tracking cookies, the Site does not change its behavior in response to "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control signals. There is nothing to opt out of. We disclose this to comply with California law.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect the information we hold, including serving the Site only over encrypted HTTPS connections and limiting access to submissions to the people who need it to respond. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send passwords, payment card numbers, government identification numbers, or other sensitive data through the contact form.

9. Children

The Site is intended for business audiences and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18, and we do not sell the personal information of anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us information, email us and we will delete it.

10. Third-party links

The Site links to other websites, including sources cited in our Journal. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which we do not control and are not responsible for.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it last changed. Material changes will be posted on this page, and continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
